Default Need Help: Texas Tuners

For all you Texas guys: I'm looking for a shop that can do a good job tuning my car on a dyno with a VAFC. I'm located in Austin, but do not mind driving a bit to get to a place I can trust and is reputable.

I am thinking of either Protech Performance in Austin or CarBoy in Houston. I do not have any experience with either shop. Anybody with experience with either shop or any other recommendations?

Carboy does an excellent job tuning Apexi products. Their pricing can be a bit excessive at times though.

Protech can do it as long as you get Justin to do it for you...

Call and talk to Jon over there and he'll hook you up.

Jonathon, I reccomend you contacing Autologic Inc in Houston. st00pid works there and he built Cheezefrog's crazy B20 Turbo hatch.

Autologic aka Jason is great with Hondata but im not sure how good he is with Apex products.

Carboys in Houston is a distributor for Apex products and their authorized to tune the power fc. My point is Carboys has more experience with tuning the Vafc and they've tuned many of my friends cars with Vafc's and they were happy with the results. Carboys charged them $200 for the 2 hour dyno tuning session a couple of years ago.

Jotech in dallas? but i heard that some of the better tuners (Tony?) left... Carboy is pretty reputable, Jacky is cool and good service. MZM in austin? they always claim to have good work when i talked to them... but never really had any experience... They did do that turbocharged IS300 u see driving around town, if u havent, the workmanship is pretty damn clean...

One of my friends had his N/A motor tuned at Intercrew in Dallas - he has had everything good to say about their N/A tuning abilities AND their customer service.

Contact Phillip.

<edit:> Feel free to IM/PM me if you have any questions.

jason can tune anything. tuning an all-motor car is just slightly different from a turbo car, the targets are only different, the methods are the same.

he tuned my all motor itr, along with several other all motor cars (namely hocus pocus's all motor race car for 3 years).

Yeah, Tybrid no longer exists, shop went out about 1yr ago. He did good work too. I've heard great things about Autologic Inc in Houston, especially about st00pid. I'm making plans for going there soon!
