I'm wondering what Honda changed from the 89 to the 91 Civic Si. Things like side door impact beams, weight items, engine tweaks, etc. Is there a webpage that lists something like this?

This is what I know about Canadian models

88 civ/crx has the jdm style rear lower control arms(diff shock as well)

90-91 crx/civ have a different flywheel/clutch assembly, the clutch disk hub uses springs instead of bushings,IMO those disks are garbage if you look at them the wrong way the springs rip out

The 90-91 civ/crx has diff front brakes, the part#'s are diff(check Hawk cat for this) ,the brakes are no bigger in dia but the thickness and pad monting tabs are diff(I think)

there is no 88 si civ(not in Canada)

slight changes for the wiring harness for 90-91 crx/civ

Front bumper is diff from 89 civ-90/91 civ

civ front corner lenses are diff from 89-90/91 civ

civ front bumper lip is diff from 89-90/91

civ rear taillights are diff from 89-90/91

i think the 90-91 Si's have a slightly stronger cam as well.

 

well, my stock 90 civic si with full interior and about 1/2 a tank of gas weighed about 2380 lbs...i dunno how much the 89's weigh, but i'm sure they weigh less (couple pounds here and there maybe)

 

the 91s look ALOT nicer....wider.....MEANER...thats just my opinion.....

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one with an OBESE 91 SI.... Damn thing weighed 2350 with out rear seats, spare or jack...

No wonder the B16a struggled n/a in my li'l porker...

 

oh yeah, that weight was with my 2 8-in. subs and box in the back as well...i never run gutted, but if i did i'd figure my weight would be sleightly below the 2300 lb range...sad....my b16 struggles too, my best time has only been 15.1@92.6 mph. oh well...nothing some ctr's can't fix
