How did everyone get started?
What were the first upgrades you did to your car?
I'm trying to figure out what I should do first. The engine in my car has 155,000+ miles so I'm not considering anything thats going to stress the engine. What could I do now if I might be swapping in a new engine in the future? Suspension, tires + wheels, what else? I don't know if I can replace the intake/headers/exhaust, or I would have to find something that would fit the new engine.

I stated by rmoving the resonator box, then messed with my fisrt cheap set of coil overs, then intake and strut bar, then rear sway bar, then coilover/shock setup, then tires and wheels
if you don't know anything about the engine type or about the car itself, I would invest some time in learning about that. A lot of people get startedd with their cars and don't even really know what they have.
If you plan on an engine swap look into suspension, tires, non-engine mods first.
What do you plan on doing with the car?show or go?straights or curves? these things will influence your purchases.

My first mods were Eibach Sport springs and a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch way back in 1994. I've come a long way since then.
dc sports header, greddy old school sp exhaust and a k&n drop in and yanking the intake muffler. it did not stay stock 4 days
My first mod to my Accord was a K&N drop in filter.
If I were you, I would work on the suspension, the brakes, and tires. If you're into looks, get some rims, but if not save your money for that swap. Make sure all your bushings are ok, as well as the CV joints.

i think mine was a strut-tie and intake... hmmmm... but thankfully my car has never had a sticker applied to it... was done right, always DunReit...
but yes, it's amazing to look back on how far my car has evolved... *looks in wallet* ------ sigh

Your mesh grill that you made, what was the grill exactly called?
was it gutter guard?
I went into the home depot to get some mesh to build a grill and I couldn't find anything.

Well, I don't have an Accord, but I just started on my car...
Replaced stock GSR front strut "tube" with Type-R strut "bar",
Phillips H.I.D. D2S kit,
OEM Integra underbody spoiler kit (Type-R lip, sides and rear),
JDM Type-R rear upper strut bar.
Future, Maybe, Wishlist?.....Type-R rear sway bar, lower rear tie bar, Intake, Headers, Exhaust, and maybe when they are reasonably priced H.I.D foglights?
I am not sure if I want to extensive engine work, yet. My car only has 4500 miles on it, so it is still a baby. Anyone have any suggestions?

Lets see when I had the prelude I had BRU (basic ricer upgrades) which consist of clears, hyperwhites, and seatbelt pads.
On the Accord I just put a AEM CAI (I love the sound) and 01 Accord EX rims b/c the rims on the car were "scuffed" badily

If Hondas were meant to be force fed they'd come like that from the factory.
Hondas are all motor.
Hondas are all motor.
i think he was trying to imply that since Honda doesn't have any forced induction cars come off of its factory platform, Hondas aren't designed to withstand the abuses of FI... however, i think that Honda focuses its efforts on producing a serious NA motor, but most Honda motors fully capable of sustaining the stresses associated with FI... however, several Honda motors will work better with FI b/c of their compression ratios...
Oh I didn't mean Honda engines can't take F/I, just that the factory designs them to be strong N/A.
I thought F/I applications shouldn't run high compression ratios (>10:1) that are common for Honda VTEC engines. Most F/I engines run <10:1 compression.
