by looking at the suspension, how do you know if its a true jdm itr?

 

jdm 5 lugs has bigger axle nuts. other than that its the same chiet

 

96-98 had 4 lug 4x114.3, theres not much to tell it apart from other JDM integras, the shocks will be Showa and part numbers are:

Rear- 52610-ST7-Z010 (96-0215)
Front- 51602-ST7-Z010 ( 96-0214 -Right)
>>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>> (96-0216 - left)

These are the part numbers of my 96Spec JDM ITR and so will probably be different for 98Spec suspension.

You mean 96-97 have the 4-lug 4x114.3....98 started the five-lug

 

yes 96spec itrs have 4x114, brake size is the same as gsr.
98 spec itrs have 5x114. same as usdm but the axle nut ,outer cv joints,bearing and hubs are bigger.
usdm 5 lugs are based of ctr susp.

 

is it true there are more spot welds on the jdm itr then gsr or usdm itr's?
is the jdm itr suppose to have a bar welded to the frame, near the rear lower control arms?

Chassis and suspension is identical between USDM and JDM ITR's. 98 spec has 1mm larger rear swaybar.

Actually its 95.5 - 97 with the 4 lug. They swapped front ends mid year and started making the ITR's.

I thought that it was that the 96s were introduced in September of 95 and thats why some say 95.5 .

how about the rear control arm? aren't the usdm ones stamped steel versus the jdm cast steel?

The early/first 98s I believe had 4 lug. The mid/later ones had 5.. right?

As it's an import I only have the year of registration, so I guess it's an early one. I understand there was a no cost option 'race spec' with soundproofing/airbags/radio/digi clock/ABS/rear wipe/rear brake light deletion. That's my spec with a black interior and a slightly different rear bumper to the UK/US ITR

alot of them replaced the 5 lug with 4x114 for racing. (lighter)

Yes the rear upper control arm on the usdm is justs a flat piece of steel.Where as the JDM is tubular so it's a bit more stronger.

since jdm and usdm itr's is mostly indentical to eachother. how can you tell if they did a rhd conversion on a usdm itr? or...or

if it was a rhd gsr and they converted it to a itr spec. what are some of the things that cannot be converted? because it would take too much time and cost too much. like the soundproofing crap.

 

USDM and JDM ITRs are far from being identical to each other.....completely different fronts, battery on the right hand side on JDM cars, master cylinder on opposite sides....

 

ok new question...what are some of the things someone cannot convert to make it an itr if it was a gs-r?
