pop of the radiator cap while its still COLD! and look for bubbles. Does the smoke smell the least bit sweet? White smoke usually means your burning coolant. Check your oil dipstick and see if your oil is milky

If you are definite its white smoke then its coolant.

okay I feel u guys about the white smoke = coolant

but got one for u geeks

I was recntly blowing white smoke but only losing about 1/4 cup of cooolant

but also burning a bit of oil???

is this from mixture or what

doesn't matter really cuz the motor is being redone completely over from ring, bearing to being hot tanked for any leaks or cracks

so I just saying to know sometimes u do got a blown gasket but can't really tell

and oil would only have like two or three drops of coolant in it???

I was stumped there???

i'm told a kink in my oil return line may have blown a seal in the turbo. sounds right 'cause there black "splatter" coming out from where the DP bolts on. some also ran out of the DP when i unbolted it at the track
my smoke is oil for SURE. i can smell it

posting this 'cause everyone posts their problem, but never end the thread with an answer so the rest of us can learn

i put on a new oil return line for my turbo. no more smoke.

i remembered seeing liquid drip from my DP when unbolting it from the exhaust at the races. i also had some running down the DP where it bolts to the turbo.
all this clicked when i read another post on here about someone who had a kink in their return line forcing the oil out of a seal on the turbo and into the exhaust. DUH!
so, fixing the return line fixed my problem.. not sure if this applies to you. if so, do it SOON before you blow a seal.
keep the line as short as possible. be sure the line runs downward as much as possible; it works by gravity mostly.. and NO KINKS. hope this can help someone.. i've had this problem for MONTHS.
