OBD2b itr ecu in 99 civic. Have coded key and swapped pins. Still doesn't work
Is there something I am missing here? I have the key with the code in it for this ECU. I swapped the pins for the fuel pump as per Katman's directions. It should start but, alas, no go. Anyone know what I could do to remedy it short of removing the immobilizer or going on a killing spree at my local supermarket?
I think your best choice is to remove the immbolizer. Do you have the ignition from the integra? You would need to swap over the ignition,etc.. from the ITR for that coded key to work in your 99 civic. The immbolizer system consists of the ecu, coded key,and the ignition. This is what I know from my knowledge so I could be wrong.

correct.. your 99 Civic does not have an immobilzer built into the key cynlinder right now.. yes you have the key w/ the code, but nothing to send the code to the ecu to start the car.. best bet in your situation would be to remove the immobilizer from the ecu

Thanx guys. Removed the immobilizer from one of the ECUs. Works great when the car finally starts. Any ideas on why it take s awhile to start?
