At what rpm does vtec/secondary runners engage on 1994-95 GSR?
At what rpm do the secondary intake runners open and vtec engage on a 1994-95 Integra GSR?
Thanks,
Mark

errr... we're both wrong... it's 5800 for the secondaries.
Thanks for the correction Trey!
Vazquez - Who takes a split second to look down at the tach once he HEARS the change over.

vtec crossover is 4500
Secdondary is 5800
Don't listen to the kids who tell you vtec is at 5800, just because it's louder at that point. VTEC is pretty quiet.... often confused for the IAB ...

Yup, you'll NEVER hear a GSR hit VTEC... with my exhaust off, you could JUST HEAR VTEC switchover, it's NOTHING as elaborate as the secondaries... and if you didn't know what it was, you'd never know.

Vazquez-
I wouldn't say that you'll NEVER here a gsr hit VTEC, if I am in second gear at 3K RPM's and floor the pedal, I can hear the VTEC solenoid "click" when the pins are engaged to stabilize the race-profile cam lobes.....and I do hear it get a little deeper once the solenoid activates.......

i thought it was 5750 rpms? seriously, i read it somewhere reputable unlike h-t.com!

yeah and I do hear the secondaries open shortly before 6k
anyone know why the VTEC cross over and the secondaries dont change together at the same rpm?

All of our cars can't be precise, the registered reading you'll see on your tach is going to be + or - 50-100 RPM... I've seen my VTEC engage at around 3800, and my Secondary butterfly runners are around 6000-6200... it's all fucked up...
You can hear a slight pitch change @ VTEC engagement (along with the car *pulling* like a ************) then at 6000 or so the tone changes to a deep, fast growl!
Ah, I haven't heard VTEC in over a month...

4400-5800... just get a v-afc and set it to where ever the hell ya want(hehehe).... set at 1200rpms, set it at 10,000 rpms.... and when i hooked up my v-afc it had the stock settings for my gsr, same for my friend with his gay16(oops b16-hehehe)
not to sound like a
but sometimes it seems the only reason people get vtec motors is to hear the vtec... as long as it's working thats good enough for me... i'd rather have a stealth sounding vtec... people still think i have my ls motor in when i dont have my aem in... but they never ask when i have it on(hehehe).... the es oval exhaust just goes from deep to DEEEEEPER when it switches over... my buddy messed around with the 1st gen b16 solenoids, for some reason he thinks there louder than all the rest... maybe i'll switch with my other friend and see if there is any change... i'll keep ya posted if ya care, i dont(hehehe)

Sometimes people get it mixed up. I know for a fact that the secondary runners open up at 4400rpms and the cam lob engagement is at 5750-5800 whatever, u guys get the point. Do you guys agree with this? Any disagree? People have it the other way around sometimes.
4400, 5800
4400 RPM -- Vtec Engagement
5800 RPM -- Secondary Intake Runners

Yes, i do have Mugen in my name actually, and are you trying to imply something?. I've had this checked before (this question has been asked many times) with my friend at Honda right out of the GS-R manual, and the secondary runners open at 4400rpms and the cam lobe engagement is at 5800 rpms.
