Default Brake dust shields

does anyone remove them....I'm contemplating it...and was weighing the pros and cons

I think I will since I upgraded to poly ball joint boots(anyone ever use those?)

I was worried before that my balljoints would be seeing too much heat from the rotors so I left them on

I took mine off and covered the b00tz (tie rod and ball joints) and ABS wire in reflective tape from pegasus.

I pulled mine off, didn't cover anything with anything, and melted my lower boots. Go figure. They were 16 years old, so who knows if there's a connection, but when I replace them I'm going to cover them this time.

yea, I took mine off and didn't cover them up yet but thanks for the heads up. I am also worried that grease could come out of either the axel or the lower ball joint and get on rotors or mess up pads. As anyone had trouble with that. I have those shitty Energy Suspension lower ball joint cups which don't really lock onto anything.
