Fix it Ticket in Fremont Area... Help!
I got pulled over for having no "amber" in the front of my G3 integra w/JDM conversion. of course i have no way of putting "amber" into the JDM 1 piece headlights... other than screwing in orange bulbs. are there orange blinker bulbs taht have both low and high filaments? all the orange bulbs I've seen are just single filaments... does anyone have any suggestions or where I can get this signed off at?
it should be a correctable violation right? the officer marked it as not correctable on the ticket... =T

You can probably go to a your local auto parts store and get those "temporary fix" colored tape. They make them for when you have a cracked tailights, turn signals, etc. I think if you put an amber film over the turn signal area on your JDM lights they'll be able to write off the ticket.

fix-it ticket in Fremont, eh? damn i'm surprised they didn't get you for speeding... have you seen the size of the police station off of Stevenson? it's humongous... anyways, yeah i sympathize with you, freakmont po-po's are dicks about everything... kind of reminds me of milpitas PD...no murders or domestic violence so they deal with moving violations
your fu@ked. I have a ticket thats due in actually, **** Tuesday for that plus a exhaust violaton and smog from awhile back. I went to a smog ref and he cleared my car, but the ticket says I owe like $385!
When I was pulled over he got me for hyper whites in the blinkers. Since then I just run orange all around to be legal. However we still need that orange refelective plastic in the housings. I'm currently in the process of making my own refeletors to put into the housings. However this will require me to heat up the headlights and to pull them totally apart and rebuild them. Hopefully if it all works out and I don't brake anything, it should be technically legal, however I can still see a cop harassing me for it, especially since I don't have a front plate.
Anyway, nothing to do buddy, but to just pay the fine. Let me know the cost of the ticket. I'm curious to see how much it was since my total cost was added with some other stuff.
Damn tickets suck, especally if you miss the court date to contest it!

it varies by state, but check your laws....most states ALLOW amber OR white in the front for bulbs, and amber or red in the rear...
I don't know CA law, but it's worth a shot...NJ is pretty rough of a state as far as laws, and I know this is the law there!
I'll see if I can find something for you, and I'll repost the statute if I find it

this means that even the front reflectors can be white as well, correct? the officer clarified to me that i have to have an orange reflector somewhere on the front bumper.
just show them that statute and it should be dropped...
it clearly states that the LIGHT has to be clear or amber....
In general, the reflectors colors usually follow the same pattern as the bulbs, except in the rear it MUST be red...
but just follow by showing them section 6 subsection c as follows
(6) Reflectors meeting the requirements of and installed in accordance with Section 24611 shall be red or white, or both.
(c) All lamps and reflectors visible from the front, sides, or rear of a vehicle, except headlamps, may have any unlighted color, provided the emitted light from all lamps or reflected light from all reflectors complies with the required color.

Roach gave the better one. It explicitly states white turn signals are legal. Cop was just a dick.
You should do what I do... always have a copy of the vehicle code in your car, and find which citations state your stuff is legal (use the web search to find them). Go to the DMV, the Vehicle Code book is like $3. I get them for free though... work at the DMV.

thats why i never messed with clear, hyper white blue bulbs.. imo amber looks totally fine.. but everyone has their own taste of course.. yes they do sell amber bulbs.. i paid like 7-8 for each to put on my front end.. i couldnt find them at pep-boys so i went to one of those speed shops, and i think brand is hyper that makes them.
