break-in then tune, or other way around?
about to finish my LS build (pistons, cams, gears, valvetrain, fuel, lotsa machine work) and i am planning on a hondata s100 being tuned at Jotehc in Dallas. just wondering if I shoud break in the new parts before i get tuned, or after.
also, how many miles of break-in? usually between 750-1000 right? is a long highway trip good for break-in?
thanks in advnace!

"break in" is for new engines my friend. and unless your block is brand spanking new, and it still has the crosshatch on the cylinder walls. you dont need to "break in" anything. do you think the metal on your piston needs to get softer or harder or something?
are your internals forged? and do you even know what needs breaking in? did you know they rev the **** out of every honda engine before it leaves the factory? they just dont assume it works and let it have the chance to break after a customer buys it, that doesnt work too well.

i dunno, i figured since i am replacing alot of parts it would be smart to take it easy for a while. maybe im wrong.
anyone else?
anyone else?
ask jotech about it. if they are going to tune it, wouldnt hurt if you followed what they had to say
jeff @ ib also wrote up some good stuff:

even if you dont tune your own car its good to know what is involved with tuning. jotech is a good tuner, but there are alot of tuners who think they are good but are just hot-air. knowing about tuning will help you figure out if the tuner is good or not by talking with them

wow, the write-ups on IB helped alot. thanks!
ok, so i shouldnt drive it before tuning. i guess ill have to trailer it down to jotech (i live in OKC).

*****, ****, i wish i knew this before i started my car up. I always thought you could just take it easy on the break in before you dyno it. ****, *****, i think i'm burning oil now, brand new phucken motor.... ****... good stuff on IB.
