Check Eng light remains solid when jumper is in diag connector 93" accord
I am trying to track down a no spark /no start problem.. When I tiried to
check the diag codes, the light remains solid when I put the
jumper (paper clip) into the diag port...
Is this normal ?? Any advice is appreciated... Haynes sucks!!
Thanks in advance,
Dan

try using an actual copper wire the ends of which you stripped. I found that with a paper clip, I dont always get good contact. Once its in and good, when the key is in the ACC itll come on, then go off for a 2nd, and then start blinking the code. Be sutr eyou have it in the right spots though, too.
When the light remains solid the ECU doesnt have an trouble codes stored. Its suposed to remain lit when the jumper is connected and everything(the computer thinks) is fine. You say your having a no spark problem, the first thing I would do is test the coil.
I had this problem a few weeks ago on my 91. Try sticking the paper clip in the backside of the jumper connector. Worked for me!
Now I am concerned... After 2 weeks the car all of a sudden
started right up and ran perfect last night.... I wonder when
the problem will come back..... I am going to check the
grounds real close this weekend.... Any comments are appreciated
and Thanks to all who replied... So if the light remains
solid, then there are no ECU errors to report.. This makes
sense...

yeah, if it just came back on I would check all your grounds. Make sure there is no corrosion anywhere. When my coil was going out it gave a couple sparks before it was completely dead, so I would check that to.
