Pull the pan.....splash shield.....and rod caps. Inspect the crank and bearing. Should be aluminum color with no abnormal wear. A spun bearing looks like someone took a blowtorch to it and will be rough and grooved. In the pan you will also find bearing/metal materials. If this is the case, the crank will have to be removed and polished and all bearings and the damaged rod will have to be replaced. In some cases it ruins the crank completely and winds up being more costly then buying a good runing block. Think about how many spare b16 crank and rods are lying around? This usually occurs from lack of oil pressure to the crank from debris or a bad oil pump or 500 thousand miles without an oil change.

No problem....pull the crank and have it miked(sp?) to tell whether its reusable.....if not you just bought yourself alot of spare aluminum.

you also should know that when replacing the rod bearing you need to get the right color...... i will guess you are new to building motors .... because you dont know how to do it..... so you need the set of numbers of the back of the block the ummm tranny side they will be like BCBCC or somthing ....... that is what my zc is that is why i used that example .... then you need the numbers from the crank in the order you find them...... ie.... 2323..somthing like that opps left one out ohhh welll then go to honda and tell um you need the bearings they will color code your bearings .... that is there sizing thing ..... ie black blue pink green ... there is some more ...hopfully that will help a little ....
