Can anyone give me any info on the motor...like HP/Torque and a typical buildup of it. This is in a 90 civic dx hatch. What kind of things should I be checking before I buy this car?

 

The motor you have is known as the D15B2, rated at 92hp from Honda. It uses throttle body injection as opposed to the more favorable mulit-port injection used on the Si's and all D-series motors starting in 1992. There isn't much you can do with this motor other than swapping it out for a better motor or putting a D-series VTEC head on it. If you are on a budget, look into doing a MPFI conversion or the VTEC head swap. Use the search on this site, search under "MPFI" and/or "Mini-Me". Good luck
