Define ITR owners
This is a bit out there, but also not. Mods please don't lock since this is Type R specific.
For english, I have to write an paper about an object I possess/have possessed and how it defines me. From here, I must expand this and explain its cultural significance in the system in which it is related (and American culture).
I am using the ITR to define it's owners within the import community and how we contrast where the "scene" is today.
So, my question to you is, how do you define ITR owners and how are they different from the rest of the import community?
I miss my ITR with every word I write in this essay.

We are like the Porsche 928 of all performance cars.
We are looked down by the other performance drivers for having FWD, but still the envy if people who dont have one.
In case anyone isnt familier, it has been explained to me that 928 owners are like the redheaded step children of the Porsche world and get no respect, no matter how fast the car is since its not a 911 based car. Yet most people who see it would want the name badge.
I really have no idea. i dont let my car define me. I let my actions and words do that

Woah...
thats hard.
I only bought the car to be kool and for the bling
Honestly I bought the car cause its a Honda and it had the profermance I was looking for. So how does that describe/ define me.
Also if this would help, I would say the car Possess me and not the other way around.
If any of this rambling helped you, I'm glad if not

Ok but, which Jack assed Porsche is the model that hit you?
And for another description of the whole theory, feel and whatnot behind the R or other car like it just take a look "Starting Line" by tim suddard in this months Grassroot's Motorsports May 2004.
"Another car that captured that magic has, sadly, already come and gone. This car is the Integra Type R and to a lesser extent the last generation Civic Si. The latest Civic Si and Acura RSX have lost that edge."
That mysterious and often elusive "Edge"...

I bought mine cause I wanted the ultimint 4 cyl that I could fit in. and that honda quality and reliability. I had a 00 si that got jacked so this was the perfect replacement. I still cant belive that I didnt know what a type r was tell about a year ago (DOOH!) how it affects me..
well lately paranoia with all these thefts lately.
import culture wise its a great car that doesnt really need to be moded and can hold its own
my 2 cents

Overly cautious. Thinks R's are the end all of imports, and last but not least...
"If it aint a Type R, it aint a tight car"
"If it aint a Type R, it aint a tight car"
Missunderstood. People think we wanna floss for riding around while its just regular usage of our car. Younger owners get stared at for looking like we're gonna hit somebody with it for going too fast. Thieves want it, we want to keep it...
it is clear to me that we are opressed by the community!!
Some people have no clue and look down on us with their camaros while we look down on them rightfully for being lame *** traditionnal rednecks with powerfull but too heavy cars... We are looked up by some knowledgable civic/honda owners but we are challenged by some other breed of civic dudes who try to show off and proove nothing except that they're uninssured for the 20 000 extra $ they dropped into it...
hell i could go on and on and on but i don't make much sense now do i... lol hope it helps, but it prolly won't!!

Dont' forget about our little friend the 914!
I'd love to have a 928, even over most 911's.
I've met a lot of friends through owning an ITR, a lot of quality people that I think would help me even if I didn't know them. For me, that has been the best part of owning the car thus far.

I bought my 00 R because I missed my chance in 98 to get one and got a 97 GSR instead. After driving the GSR I seemed to notice the 97's and 98's more because I didn't see them that often. I've also raced R/C cars for many years so basically I just love to drive and the R handles like one.
ITR was one of my favourite cars, so i had the chance to get one. Its one of the best sensations, more than 8000rpm of total power, extraodinary sound, great looks, for me, its one of the best Japanese cars, and why not, the 3rd best 4 cyl.FWD NA in the world.

Yes, indeed.
But would they have considered a 914/6 a "Porsche"?
I was just talking to a good friend of mine while coming back from our favorite Thai restuarant after lunch about my favorite car (while watching a Boxter/911 in the rearview), and commented that I'd like a 97 C4 with the aero package or a 97 NSX (though I also added that the Porsche might be the better daily driver from a parts/service perspective).
Hmmm ... Actually, a GT3/2 would make a nice daily driver (even though my license might not last long).
Turned it was a Boxter that I'd passed before getting on I-66, and a Carerra that I'd seen in the rearview on the highway.
Hmmm there are even a few Cayanne S in the neighborhood, as well.
