It has a nice quiet sound when I'm at idle, but when I get on it, it sounds a little raspy to me. Can I eliminate this with a resonator or something of that sort.

On the other hand, it has great power on the mid-top power range and it has more throttle response than normal. I like it. I just want a different exhaust sound if possible.

I need to dyno it soon.

What product would you suggest for plugs and wires for maintenance purposes? Would you suggest advancing the timing to 17 degree or so? Just curious.

Thanks

you should also stop relying on your butt dyno, i really don't think you can 'feel' the hp loss you got from running a testpipe... and you can get rid of that 'raspy' sound by putting your catalyst back on your car (they also sell nice 2.5" high flow ones)... and you should use OEM ignition parts unless boosting or on the bottle...

good day sir!

I don't see why I would have horsepower loss with testpipe. I have a spoon prog. ecu and 9100rpm redline. I have spoon "rocker arms" <-----[I guess] and valvesprings with the other mods. listed. I noticed my car runs real rich with this program at high rpm. Also I can feel the difference between more power and less. I feel less torque on the bottom because of less backpressure but topend is great, much better than before.

Anyway no matter I love the car and the set-up. As far as the cat. goes I am having one made so I can be legal. I will use the testpipe at the track only though cause I do race quiet often.... Not like you guys care or anything. It's a great set-up and I suggest it to anyone.

I have no Idea what they are called maybe roler-rockers, lifters, the things that go bump in the night... I dont't know what they are. all I know is that they help when you are at high rpm so you don't float the valves or anything like that...

I wish I could get help and less critisism.. So if you have any ideas let me know. I was told when I bought the car that it had something called lifters or maybe something else so if any ideas let me know....

now that I think about it maybe he ment retainers who knows.

Great I already have a testpipe, but I am also going to get a cat. made sooner or later. This was temporary. No, I never said it looked like eye candy. It is just a good test and I thank you for putting it up.

#26Type-R....

do you have an aftermarket exhaust.
if so, this is why you have a raspiness.

if you are running a stock cat-back, it should have no raspiness at all.

yeah I do I have 2.5 all the way back. from the header back.

Oh well.

I was tossing the idea of nitrous cause I can get a kit from a friend really cheap and it is a 75 shot. Dunno if it is a good idea on a high comp. engine. Doesn't the R have forged factory pistons of some sort?

why NOT?

nitrous is EASY, SAFE power

and what makes an "ITR" different than anythign else?? it's just a car

nitrous LOVES compression actually
but the ITR still has hyperutecnic pistons....which suck for nitrous

you could toss in some 11.8:1-12.2:1 forged pistons and do a 100 shot and it's be awesome. easily get you mid/low 12's...possibly high 11's with good driving

i mean, to each their own, but i just don't see why you'd buy an itr if your primary intention is to drag it...

Never said I was going to just drag race it....

I haven't started yet but I will be autocrossing it this weekend, but I do also drag race it yes.. So I do both. As far as buying the wrong car I have had many cars and by far this is the best stock set-up I have ever driven. I only ask questions for more info or opinions. I do agree this car was not desigened for drag racing but it still can and it does quite well at it, maybe not the fastest but it does respectable times. The other reason I bought it was also cause it is rare and people like to drool cause they have a gsr,rs,ls or some other none ITR and want to have what I bought. It's also fun to just take people out that think they can hang in a curve and just leave them behind by a great amount of space. I like to take my car down a road in austin, tx called lime creek rd. and that road is curve as hell and very very fun to drive at the brink of lossing it. It's great. I know everyone on here loves the cars handling too. I know I love letting some one have it at a light too. Most everyone likes to give a cocky person next to them a rude awaking when you leave them behind by a fairly stock car. Anyway, Just thought I would ramble for a while here. I love H-T and most of the time I get good info. I just wish I knew more people in austin,tx that post on here.

Thanks
