Default checking for codes on a del sol?

sorry, this question is probably dumb, but I need to figure it out. I know how to check the codes, but what is that little green light right above the gauges on the cluster cover? a friend of mine just got a del sol, I think its 94-95, with the SOHC vtec motor. I know alot about 88-91's but not much on this.

sorry about not replying sooner, I've been alittle busy. the light is right above the cluster, on top of the cluster cover. its a green light and it stays on all the time.
