so heres what i want to know cause i know that azenis are street legal BUT one of my friends just told me that he just got pulled over cause a cop saw his tires while he was at a stoplight, i call this bullshit....has this happened to anyone else here...thanks

your friend should have told the cop to look at the big DOT stamp on the side of the tire

some tires are illegal for the street, I.E slicks. But Azenis are street legal cuz they have DOT on the sidewall.

Just cause they are DOT approved doesn't mean that they are legal for the street.
He was probably driving around on some bald tires and got a ticket for them not being within spec....Any DOT tire can still be illegal on the street.

yup I think anything less than 2/32" of tread depth will get you a ticket. If the cop wants to be really picky he can tow your car because it's unsafe for the streets.

This cop may have never seen those tires before and pulled him over because they looked really worn out. Did they guy get a ticket or just pulled over?

I was just about to say that too, I know my tires were illegal for a couple months

 

I have the azenis too and no probs here. I love them and havn't been harrassed by the cops yet (at least not for the tires). DONO some cops are dicks some are cool.
