Default V-AFC tuning

does anyone know if I will burn my injectors out by going rich or lean? How much adjustment do I have rich/lean? I wanna lower my VTEC point and add more fuel until the normal changeover point. ohh yeah would I adjust the fuel curve for vtec on LVT or HVT? any words of advice are needed badly! thanks.

Why you want to add fuel? What kind of mods you have? Usually the stock ECU is running rich. So if anything, you will need to lean it out.

Playing with the fuel/air ratio without having how to read it is dangerous.
Buy a Halmeter www.twminduction.com and then play with it.

well the reason I wanna make it rich is because the factory ecu doesn't dump the needed fuel in when you change the vtec point. I figure if you add some fuel from the new vtec point to the old crossover you will get better pull when the cams change.

How did you verify that the factory ecu isnt dumping enough fuel?? I'm curious how you came to this conclusion. Unless your engine is absolutely thirsty for more fuel,I wouldn't add more. The way you make power in engines is to run them lean not rich..Contrary to what you think.

I doubt you have enough modifications to harbor adding more fuel. Correct me if I'm wrong. If I were you I'd try this, lean it out 3% all throughout the rpm range then tell me if your car pulls a little harder.

you have up to 50% either way, lean or rich

lowering your vtec point will make you lose power. leave the vtec xover where it is.

LVT is for low cam before vtec xover

HVT is for after

make sure to note the changes to see what works.

just fyi there is a narrow throttle setting and a wide open throttle setting.

leaner is meaner, dont make any fuel adjustments without being on a dyno, i gained 8whp by leaning my car out, be warned
is that a red type R in your avatar? got any bigger pics?

I know about the narrow and full settings...I was playing with it alittle tonight. I will try the 3% thing and tell you how it works out....Ohh yeah I know from looking at fuel curves from itr's that below Vtec they don't use as much fuel and when vtec comes on there is an increase in fuel and hp...so by lowering vtec changeover and adding fuel to it so you are getting the fuel vtec is supposed to get then in theory you will be making power sooner in the rev range.

So let say I have the VTEC kick in at like 6800rpm, then is it OK to use LVT from 1000-5000 rpm and HVT from 5500-9000RPM?

Or does it have to use the VTEC switch over to separate the LVT and the HVT?
