Hey... some idiot hit my car this winter... I've been to a few body shops but I want to know what you guys think...

Can this be pounded out and painted to be fixed, or do I need new parts?

 

Yes that can be fixed for sure. The door they will probably straiten out to the best they can get it and bondo it smooth. I think for the rear quarter panel they will cut out the dented part and re weld in a peace of sheet metal. all this would make it as good as new.

There shouldn't be a problem fixing that. They'll have to remove the door and somehow bang / push it back out. Cost for something like that I'm not sure about. Was the accident the other driver's fault? If so, have them pay for it. It may take a month or two depending on whether they admit fault in the accident, but it'll be worth it. For something like that, I wouldn't even bother getting your own insurance company involved unless it's really necessary.
