I will be setting my car up for 25" MH slicks and i already have a b16 cable tranny. My question is how high will i have to rev to keep the car in 4th and not have to shift at the end of the track. I was told around 9600 or so by a few people. What are your experiences? Also if i know in advance i will be revving that high i should have the car tuned to go that high correct? By the way the tranny is a Y1 i believe, and the 3rd gear was replaced with a S1 gear because of damage.

If you rev to 9600 then you'll finish the traps in 4th at around 146mph.

Will just springs and retainers be ok if ill be taking the car to 9500+- ? Other than that my valves etc. are stock. thanks for the replies

 

Id say replace em...

 

Also when your going through the traps @ 146mph the trap speed is an avg. of the last 66ft of the track so your trap speed would be about 140-141mph. Also like Ron's

There are two sizes that come into play here, the 8.7/25-13 or the 9/25.5-14 I know a 14" but LOOK @ the size 9/25.5

I did not know you make them in 14" I would of got this size instead I have 8.7/25/13 now. I hope I can trap 140's like Art and Ron said.

 

I wonder if i could even tuck the 25.5-9-14's under my DA. hmmm. thanks for the help John.
