I have the spoon ones, yes basically they do clean out the metal shavings, you'll be surprised to see how much when you do an oil change.

R&D Motorsports has em in stock usually, from what I see posted. Do a search in the classifieds...I think its R&D. Or IPS, one of the two

You can order a Spoon oil drain plug @ http://www.modacar.com for $45.00.
Works alot better than the the one you can get at Checker auto for $4.00 IMO.

MAYBE???????

It has a longer and stronger magnet and its made by Spoon so it has to be imported, so that explains the price but, the cheap one will work.

I can't justify spending $45 on a bolt that says "Spoon" on it....I know that Spoon is one of the best aftermarket companies, but charging this much for a $3 item is just not right.

Default degradated

Degradated understands just how much the import market is "price gouging".

Anyone ever look at Summit racing catalogs? Or Jegs? or Edelbroch?
Check cams, valves, or pistons there and see what the prices are like. . .
Then look at a parts catalog for a japanese targeted performance company. Makes you feel ripped off.

There is no reason for import enthusiasts to pay so much for their parts. We just all seem to "jump on the bandwagon" when a new trendy part is found so easily. The companies cannot help but reap the benefits of mass ignorance by maintaining high prices.

Jusat because a part is made in Chicago doesn't make it any better than one made in Dallas.

Get a clue, boycott the expensive bastards. Don't encourage them to charge for a name. Just like Tommy hilfiger, or Abercrombie and Finch, It's just what's popular, so a higher price is put on it.

JC Whitney sells magnetic band that wraps around
fuel filter for $20.00. What's your opinion about this product ?

Frankly, I'm thinking about taking apart my
old car speaker and stick the magnet under the oil pan,
It a ghetto way but much stronger than magnetic
drain plug. Might pick up a few man hole covers too.

Then how are you going to get the shavings out? Your just gonna let them chill at the bottom of your pan? or are you going to remove your oil pan every change?

If you have an "autozone" nearby (they seem to be all over), ask for one. They gave them to me for free when I bought oil. That's when I still had a car
