question: h23 tranny on f22b1 ??
Newbie here, so if I'm doing something wrong please let me know. I've tried to search to find my answer but couldn't. Maybe I just have no searching skill. Anyways, here is my question:
Will the manual tranny from the H23 engine (92 prelude non-VTEC) fit on to the F22B1 engine (automatic 96 accord EX VTEC).
If it does fit, is it an exact fit or will I have to modify something. If it does not fit, why is that. Please feel free to school me on this. I am a newbie at this engine/transmision swap thing. I'm trying to read all the threads about swaps on all the forums there are. Honda head tryin to learn here. Thanks guys.

h23 tranny = closer gear ratios , use the search function and you will find a post somewhere around here that shows all the ratios for all the gears on each tranny and it will also show that h22 tranny a h23 tranny and a f22 tranny all have the same 5th gear.

no they dont... the h22 has shorter gearing through out every gear compared to the f22 tranny. it just has the same FD ratio.

haha yeah. I'm asking and even considering swapping because my friend is swapping to an H22 in his prelude so he had a set of spare h23 engine and tranny. I was thinking if it's not too much trouble or cost too much then I'd swap the manual tranny to my accord. But crap, haha I might as well hold out for a while and buy a manual car instead. Might even save me some spare money to do some engine work. haha.
