Default JDM ITR header help

Ok, so I did a search, and the most beneficial thread ended-up confusing me b/c they werent sure of the lengths.

Here's the deal, I got a 92 GSR with a 96 GSR motor. Running a stock header at the moment, and Im looking at a JDM ITR header. Let me have it with the problems I'll have trying to fit this sucker in. Any suggestion on the cat to make this work...

Part II:

I'm running a b16 cable tranny, anyone have any suggestions on what clutch application to buy for this tranny? I had an ACT ext set-up on my old hatch, and I loved that dearly. Just not sure which application I'm supposed to get for a JDM b16 tranny. Thanks fellers. Oh, and I'd also love to get a flywheel in this too. Kill all the birds with one stoner.

The JDM ITR header is not the same length as the stock 3rd gen GSR exhaust manifold. Is the manifold you are using the stock one from the original engine, or the stock one from the new engine?

Thanks for the reply...I believe it's the stock ex. mani from the b18c1..not the b17a. I dont think the stock b17a ex. mani would fit onto the b18c1 block right? Well either way...

Yes, the stock B17A1 manifold will fit on the B18C1, all B series headers/exhaust manifolds are interchangable. In that case, you will have to do some slight modifications to the exhaust in order for it to fit properly. It's nothing a muffler shop can't handle for fifty bucks or so.

ACT carries a reputation for consistent quality and exceptional performance, so it's probably a safe bet to go with them again. For a flywheel, I've personally had great experience with Fidanza, however the Comptech flywheel also carries a great reputation and is quite popular.

Thanks...but what application do I go with for a b16 cable tranny? I know ACT doesnt specifically offer a set-up for a JDM b16 tranny. Should I get the clutch/flywheel set-up offered for 92-93 GSR?

i believe you will have to notch the crossmember in order for the header to clear. for the cat you will need a 2.5 inlet cat nothing a muffler shop couldnt handle
