Here's what I'd do to a GSR for a good all motor setup:

JDM ITR tranny
Comptech flywheel
ACT clutch
JDM DC 4-1 header
CTR pistons
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams and valvetrain
RC 310cc injectors
190 lph fuel pump
AEM EMS
Falken Azenis
100 lbs weight reduction

This should have you eating STOCK Evo's for breakfast.

Edit: changed to say "stock".

Kendall, you mean stock evo viii's? That is debatable, but yea, thats a nice setup (notice how half of it doesn't even add/free up HP, just makes the best use out of what you have!)

Thats a very nice setup.

I would do everything the same except

Toda Header
Toda Cam Gears

If you want a "GREAT ALL MOTOR SETUP".

You definately need some headwork
....DPR Stage 6 headwork

Also, I wouldn't mind having a top of the line TUNER. Thats the key.

Possibly stroke it to a 2.0

If I had a bottomless pit of money, I'd have a hell of a time

Being that an ITR with bolt-ons, a comptech flywheel and a 4.9 final drive can beat up on stock Evo's, this setup (if properly driven) should be able to hold it's own against Evo's with mild modifications. You may also want to throw in a hundred pounds or so of weight reduction to make sure though.

I was actually going to list those, however I wanted to keep it within a reasonable budget and the Toda header doesn't exactly fall into that budget.

for Dan Paramore Racing, despite the fact that his stage 6 headwork will probably cost about as much as the car did to begin with.

I took it that he was looking for a good "general use" setup, so I listed mods that I think would best suit all motorsports as a whole. I've seen setups very similar to this run consistent low 13 second passes, as compared to a stock Evo (the fastest I've ever seen a stock one run is 13.6). For autocross and road courses, all he should need is a larger rear sway bar, Ground Control's, and Koni Yellow's to have a car that can be effectively competitive. Of course he would need to learn how to properly drive it.

I'm in Hendersonville (i.e. Hendo) which is just South of Asheville in the Western part of the state.

Yes, Dan Paramore's headwork did cost a ton. However, I dyno'd at 190whp without touching my fuel, on ITR cams. It did crazy things for my setup.

I also ran the Toda Header and didn't have cam gears on my ITR cams.

So, there was plenty of room for improvement.

I had to go turbo though. So, I sold the head for a stock GSR head and sold my ITR tranny for a GSR tranny.

Boost

But ill never forget all motor vtec screaming. I had a ton of fun with it. Easily a high 13 second car.

I would have kept the all motor setup, but I understand the boost obsession (I had 2 turbo cars).

If I wasn't just starving to keep up with Z06's and the V8's I wouldn't have. But I just feel the urge to test the next level. I've never owned a turbo car, just been in them and known about them. I studied up for a long *** time and did my build up nice and patiently. I can't wait honestly.

The all motor setup was pretty mint. I surprised a ton of people and it had a bunch more potential. However, its just a lot more pricey then just getting all that power at once like you have with boost. I mean I sold my whole setup and basically made all the money for my turbo kit and also got a 98 and up front, rs series sides and rear, cleaned up the look, got some black c8's, and overall think its gonna be nice when I take it out and snap some pics. I spent a ton of time putting this all together and have dealt with a ton of shipping that I wish I would have never done. But all in all, after all this time, I am glad I did it. Over the winter I was hanging myself trying to sell everything, ship everything, buy everything, find good deals and most of all find time for everything with college. Now that its almost done, it was all worth it.

I was going to go with Skunk2 Stage 2's, Toda Cam gears, Chipped ECU at the dyno, Hondata instead of VAFC, tune, tune and tune some more. That was my plans with the all motor setup. I could have done that all over the winter, but I decided turbo was the route I wanted. With that setup I listed above I think I would have easily pushed over 200whp and thats with a stock bottom end. That headwork and header back setup I had was just killer (2.5" cat and 70mm Kakimoto exhaust)....I have video of me in my car racing around and at the drag strip, man it was a pleasure to hear that thing roar in vtec. I mean ROAR. It sounded like a stock car....vtec was mean.

Ill miss it. But ill love turbo.
