Default Replacing a timing belt in a 1990 Accord Ex

I have a honda accord with 210k miles. Anyway the other day it was running rough and I couldnt figure it out .Well something popped yesterday and it started running fine but made a really high pitched whine that went up with the rpm. Long story short I think its the timing belt tensioner.

I have never changed the timing belt/waterpump etc. and have had the car for over 100k in miles.

How hard is it to change (I can do basic stuff like change radiator hoses, replace alternator etc.) and is there a website to walk me through it?

Went down to the local mechanic and he believes its the tensioner. He wants to charge me 250$ to change it. ANyway chance I can do this myself?

Go get yourself a Chilton's or Haynes manual. That thing will save your life.

I would only attempt a timing belt change if you have a sizeable amount of tools and a couple days to spare. You never know what might go wrong.

Hey there,
Timing belts are easy on those cars. Yo dont need any special tools,
Just get a manual. It will go easy if u take your time...
Tools Needed:
10mm
12mm
14mm
19mm preferably deep impact for crank bolt
6mm allen wrench for balance shaft
floor jack..

Just make sure to double check marks on cam and crank..
and balancer belts..
