I bought my new 2001 PY type r from my dealer awhile ago, and finally picked it up on friday morning. I will post pics of it later on but... there is something about it that isn't quite right.

You know the odometer that reads the total number of kilometers travelled during the cars life?

You know the distance meter thing that is similar but can be reset?

Well.... the odometer reads 140 kilometers, thats fine.

But the distance meter reads 1400+...

In other words, the distance meter has a bigger number tallied on it than the odometer does.

Ya think i should look further into this? Any explaination for this? Please not let it be my worst fear... there must be some explaination to this that will lead to a happy ending for me.

I may take pictures of the dash tommorow.

Till then, what do you guys think?

 

The last digit is for a tenth of a mile. I am prettu sure that the trip display only displays up until 999 kilometers or miles (depending on where you are from). At least that is the way the US one is.
