Default b18c5 into a sol. parts list....

hey. im trying to find out what parts i need for this swap.

i can't decide if i should buy the complete change over or just the motor/tranny/ecu from hmotorsonline.

basically i know i need:
block
tranny
b18c5 ecu
del sol vtec shift linkage
del sol vtec gauge cluster (goes to 8k redline where as the c5 revs to 8400 iirc)
some mounts (thinking hasport... anyone want to reccomend?)

now.. what axles do i need, and am i missing any other parts?

i tried searching, but the results are just too much.. i sorted through them for a good 20 minutes, but to no avail.

thanks to anyone who read through this and will help me.

You can use stock b18c5 mounts, or aftermarket, doesn't matter, and axles, you need b-series axles, like from a civic si, del sol vtec, integra etc etc..

sweet. thanks for the quick reply.

i guess by this thread you see what i've decided to drop into the sol. should be here soon...

so i should just get ahold of del sol vtec axles and shift linkage. and maybe some Energy Suspension inserts...

I would just get the complete changeover, then buy the right shift linkage

Depends on what year sol it will be going into. If you're putting it into OBD1. You'll need an OBD1 Dizzy. But besides all the OBD1/OBD2 stuff, you're paying $400 for axles and mounts from Hmotors pretty much, because the linkage is useless to you.

Also, depending on what model sol it is, you'll need an ITR throttle cable, i doubt most swaps come with it. inlinefour.com has em for $25 or so.

the complete change is 4500, the tranny, motor, ecu package is 4100, the difference between the two is the complete has axles with halfshaft, ITR shift linkage (which you cant use), and mounts. The mounts and axles can be had for roughly $175-$225

so then get the tranny motor and ecu package... and then get the shift linkage, axles and half-shaft from a vtec sol, motor mounts from where and then im good to go?

Yes. The only thing you'll have to address is OBD1/OBD2. Do you have a new sol?

if you have a 93-95 sol you'll be fine as long as you get a obd1 motor

all honda makes switched to obd2 in 96. if you get a b18c5 it will be an obd2. you don't have to get axles or intermediate shaft from a del sol VTEC. i used GSR axles and intermediate shaft in my del sol.

if you used the gsr ones, the type r should fit.. right?

oh, and for obd2 to obd1 conversion, this should work, right? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

you can go ahead and run a rechipped p28 (92-95 civic sohc vtec). that's what i'm running with my GSR swap.

you can use a VTEC gauge cluster if you want. or you can just do it the cheap way and use your S or SI gauge cluster and buy indiglo gauges for a del sol VTEC that shows an 8000 RPM redline.
