I'm interested in knowing too. I haven't put one on and I'm wondering if they're really worth the money. Do they really only yeild you about 4 or 5 hp after you spend about $1000?

You don't have to spend $1k for an exhaust system for the S2k. Anywhere from aproximately $550+ for one. I'd do a search and look around.

All of the Spugen exhausts are the best deals out there. I personally have the Single outlet titanium from Spugen and I love it. It's very loud, but sounds mean.

There are many other good companies out there also, such as Invidia, Comptech, etc. You can spend 1k on a Mugen if you want, but I wouldn't. I'm a cheap bastard.

I have a Tanabe dual canister. ITs not crazy loud, but it sounds nice and looks good (it's polished).

Oh, by the way....its for sale. $400 plus shipping.

PM me or e-mail me at SmoothVTEC@aol.com

an exhaust can lower your PEAK hp, and possibly low end.

but it depends on what you want it for.

do you want the best ALL AROUND HP gains, or do you want a dyno queen that makes more peak hp?

you can get tons of peak HP, but you may end up sacrificing low/mid range power, and driveability.

Unless you're into splitting hairs, an aftermarket exhaust on an N/A car--especially on a high-strung NA car like the S2000--means minimal gains.

It comes down to looks and sound.

Mugen has both with weight savings.

But I got myself a Comptech unit because it's a quality brand with a smooth sound with shiny stainless steel pipes.

theres a spugen one that duc from s2ki posted. most signals produce more power than dual because of the design. i wish i had a picture, the exhaust almost looks like there are no bents in it.

imo i think single exhaust looks the best. when i get money i will be purchasing single oval

heres another one Spügen Exhaust: Single Titanium V.2

looks really straight through

The sound of it? Hmm... Loud. That's about it. But, I am absolutely in love with it. The car at full throttle sounds like a sport bike. At normal driving, its louder than most exhausts, but still gives off a deep, throaty sound that makes it seem like the car has a lot more work done to it then it actually does. Wow, run on. Oh well. I'll see if I can get my friend to host his vid he has of me.

WOW how nice does that feel? Do you feel any gain at all down bottom or is it all mid-ish?

low end is somewhat noticeable - it seems to me that i don't even need to hit vtec much - the exhaust is pretty quiet as well. I haven't ridden in many other s2k's that were modded - just stock.
