2000 spec B16A into 1996 Civic CX
I've searched and searched, but cannot find a write up on this.... It MUST exist... Can someone please point me in the right direction? I have all type of questions.... like will it matter that I don't have a place to plug the crank sensor into a usdm harness... or will it make a difference since the JDM ecu will be used.... Anyway any help would be much appreciated... HONDA-TECH, DON'T FAIL ME NOW!!!!!
TIA

i have a 00 b16a2 in my 96 dx..
i used a 96 ex harness and pretty much everything was plug and play. i did not have to wire up the IACV or add vtec ect.. it was all done already. but i also used a jumper harness and i am now running obd1 through a chipped p28 so the crank angle sensor was not a issue neither was the secondary 02 sensor.
But for the best write up on this swap id suggest searching under Katman for EK b series wireing info. good luck

more specifically than just getting it running.. I need it to pass a state ref inspection to get the all mighty BAR cert..... I am going to use the JDM P2T ecu, that will not look for the crank sensor (I will make it look like it is plugged in so the ref doesnt say antything about it) It would be sooooo much easier to do if the damn harness came out of the engine bay (like obd-1 EG's and what not)

You are, but the ECU out of a 99-00 civic SiR is a P2T... Just like a USDM Si.... I've been talking with a local ref... and a guy at a honda dealer... I'm told they will not know, or be suspicious of anything, just as long as no CEL's show up....
make sure your diagnostic port works, which may not if you do not have a usdm computer. that's one of the firts tests they run, and they won't proceed any further if you don't have that. have the car smogged as is, if it still has the original motor in it.
