Default I have a miss when cold

Hello everyone I was wondering if I could get some help with this miss I am having. I have a 88 Civic LX Auto (94,500) but the slight miss when cold is bothering me. And it has a little tapping sound when cold too. Sounds like a rocker arm needs adj. I have changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and a part in the distributer. I didn't know if these were common problems that someone on here might be able to help me out with. Once the motor is up to full temp it usally don't miss at all and this happens when you first start it when its cold untill it fully warms up you can give it a little gas and it goes away. It is worse in gear than in "N". when the a/c is on it makes it worse.

Thansk for any info Sean

When in gear the RPMs drop so it makes it seem worse. A/C does the same thing.

so what if I adj. the idle up about 100 rpm's I am guessing there is screw on the TB to do that. Or should I just leave it be. I did a compression check and I was amazed all the cyl were dead on each other and it was hitting about 175 psi. I have had this car since wensday and it runs so smooth when warmed I just didn't want to mess anything up with it.

How do these cars respond to CAI ? most likely just a pipe with a filter under the hood. It's a little slugish getting onto on ramps but will cruise 80-90 no problems. It does crank about 4,000 rpm's at 85 but I don't think that is hurting anything.

Thanks for the replies.

Sean

The rev thing on the highway is just the gearing of the tranny. Honda wouldn't have made the ratio's like that if it was going to hurt the car.

Sounds like your just a bit paranoid.

Not worth putting a CAI on your car... waste of money. The DPFI you have sucks, do a MPFI swap and then you can put a CAI and get some possible results.
