I have a similar problem with my '01 SH. If it gets cold, like below 40 degrees or so, it has a real hard time starting. It does sound like it's missing, but once I've tried starting it a few million times and the temp goes up a bit, it starts. I don't know what causes this either (some help huh?) but I've heard rumors that it's just an annoying V-tech side affect? (effect? damn, out of college, can't remember my grammar to save my life?) Luckily I live in Cali so it doesn't get too cold here for too long. If you purchase a heating blanket and put in under the hood for about half hour before you have to leave, it helps. Good luck. -Chris-

My car has a similar problem, though I can somewhat attribute it to the stage3 cams bumping my valves around.

I have another problem I think is related, randomly it starts and wants to die unless I hold the gas for like 30 seconds.

My next step is getting a fuel pressure guage, I suspect a failing fuel pump.

I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

Normally I would suggest the same, but I have an STR throttle body, aka no fast idle valve, so thats not my prob....

true, but I was talking about Chris' motor. His is stock, so I know he has one. Wouldn't hurt to check it out.

I gotta figure out why my motor was running lean. B/c I believe that is why my piston was so damn scarred. I know the piston rings were just worn, and that was what was causing my oil consumption...but I dunno.
