COMPTECH ice box VS. AEM cai
also the comptech will act as a "ram air" when u remove the passenger turn signal. also the filter is up in a bigger than stock box you have no chance of hydrolocking unless u drive through a lake.
and since the filter is in the stock location inside a big sealed box you'll still retain very good throttle response but have the gains of a cold air

ebay 3" short ram intake with a k&N filter is all u need
there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars on a intake
it is unterly pointless and is a plan waste of money

lololol your not understanding... the air is drawn from behind the bumper.. the classic CAI's put the filter down there. and the tube runs up to the TB.. this reduces throttle response and increases low end torque as there is a small space of air.. what the icebox does is place a snorkle down behind the turn signal that leads up to a SEALED box with the filter in it.. the big *** box fills with air from the snorkle. and since the big *** box is big, it has more volume allowing better throttle response.
the ice box is the best of a CAI and an SRI.

I would agree with you if someone was purchasing a CAI. However, I feel that the Comptech Icebox is well worth the money I spent.

I really don't think any of that matters unless he has FI or some other intensive-*** setup. Which I doubt.

no hp and torque change together as HP is realative to tq and rpm
SRI is for top end while CAI is for low-mid

i kinda hate the 2 piece AEM cai for all season use.

I never seem to get enough of these intake threads.
I personally would go with the stock intake arm with an aftermarket filter and with a closed resonator in the summer time so it doesn't draw hot air from inside the engine bay. But hey, If you got the money go with with the Ice Box setup, you get the best of both worlds, cold air from under the car (idael for summer) and a shorter pipe for bettter throttle response.

Dude, you need to udnersand, its an intake. All intakes in the end give u pretty much the same gains, if ANY at all. Unless you're planning to change ur TB and IM then you're not doing much.

this has to be the dumbest reply i have ever heard.. the same TYPES of intakes are pretty much teh same. IE SRI's and CAIs... but intakes are not made the same.. you think OEM thinks performance when they build a car? no they want it quiet. and intakes make noise so they add a shitload of chambers to supress noise.. and that makes shitty intake.
i gained some great throttle response and some nice top end just by adding an SRI to my LS.

Only a stock intake arm or Comptech SRI will fit the Icebox without modifications.

oh for the ice box all it requiers is the the comptech filter and the acual icebox.. you may reuse your stock arm or you cna use any SRI or the comptech SRI

i wish i can run invidual throttle.. but its a daily. i heard comptech ice box are quieter and gives better hp then the aem. but im jus wanting what you guys who mayb experienced this before to tell me more.
im running b18c in my hatch. i have the stock airbox (which is not mine) and it sits rite behind the radiator. im looking towards the comptech ice box due to a more stocky look.

Not if the F.B.I. have anything to say about it.
