just did a swap now car wont start ... any suggestions?
i just dropped a 99 USDM B16a2 into my 93 CX... anyways we changed everything over to obd 1, and also we changed the fuel pump to a GSR one, we havent wired for vtec just yet but the car should start and it doesnt.... the car doesnt have a throttle cable right now (its ordered waiting for Honda), but the car should still start up. I hear the fuel pump pumping gas into the motor and the distributer sparks right up too .... but it just wont start.... i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me to check to see if it isnt pluged up or what not... ive been working on this until 4am last night so i need a fresh perspective to finish up the job ... thanks alot

Without a throttle cable the throttle can't open at all...which means you can't get any air which in turn means your fuel injectors aren't firing fuel into the cylinders which in turn means your car isn't going to work
. Hold your throttle open a little bit and try it again. The fuel pump doesn't give fuel to the engine, it gets it to the fuel rail. The ECU moves things along from there, and it won't be spitting fuel into vacuum, i.e. no airstream.

*******UPDATE******
i got it to work, what had happened was that there was too much fuel in the motor, thus we let it dry out for an hour then gave it a turn and she sparked right up...
i had already check the 3 main things (fuel, air, spark) and they were all working and we made a temp. throttle cable just to check if we were done.... now that all this is behind us we will be doing VTEC wiring
but thanks for all the help anyways
