Default Starter signal weak. Anyone else ever have this problem ?

My car starts normal 9/10 times.
Once and a while it will not start, the starter does not get a strong enuff signal from the small 12 guage size black wire.

When this happens I use a 12 guage wire and connect it to a 12v source on my battery terminal to the starter signal and the puppy starts right up....

I took a voltmeter & checked my voltage of the starter signal wire & it drops to 10v when attempting to start the car but it does nothing but sit there (not enuff voltage).

I was woundering if any of you have had this issue, or know of a relay or item that might be going bad....
I highly doubt the starter is going bad, because the car starts 9/10 times, and when it doesnt start or want to start, it starts when I give the starter signal a direct power supply from the battery using a jumper wire.

Thanks,
John

Already done...

I have a feeling it might have something to do with my viper alarm system.
I believe it is possible that the start signal relay is a pos....
I might bypass the whole starter relay system & try it out..

The thing that doesnt make sence to me, is the issue comes and goes every week.

Check the wiring for the alarm before checking the alarm brain itself. Who installed it?

I installed the alarm. The alarm was in a few months before this started happening...

Its honestly anoying, because the system doesnt fail, it just fails at random, i could walk away from the car for 30 minutes after it not doing it for a week then it doesnt want to start, then I walk away for 30 more min & it will start....

My starter doesnt even click, I hear the relays click like normal but the starter just chills.

Luckely I cary a 12 guage wire to bypass the starter signal strait from my positive battery terminal when this happens.

I have the same like the same problem with my starter signal fuse, it doesnt get any power. Could the battery being in the back have something to do with it? all other fuses get power except the starter signal fuse, help.
