OK...
Here is an equation for you.

Cheap and fast wont be reliable.
Cheap and reliable wont be fast.
Fast and reliable wont be cheap.

Taken from a friend from EF-Honda dot com.

Scott
By the way, I have seen some 8mm wires, a CAI, HEADER, and DCS EXHAUST on the same in a CRX do WONDERS. The car was even toting a 300 pound stereo.
(I sold him the stereo.) Quick little dual point.

Well, decent things to do...

If you want to upgrade the engine you have right now:
Look into a way to swap the DPFI for a MPFI system.
You will need a wiring harness hack, a distributor, and a complete fuel delivery system.

You could just get a decent MSD Ignition, but I am not too sure how well it will work on the DPFI setup. You really should unrestrict the airflow...
Your engine is basically an air pump... the less airflow restriction, the better, to a degree. You get to the point of deatomization after a while... THEN YOU NEED A CARB!

Or, you could do like a friend of mine:
Drive the car as-is for a long time. Save EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR YOU GET.
Get a Big Swap, and pay cash. Be patient while everyone is passing you uplaughing, or running off from you.
After your car is swapped, you will have the last laugh, and no one will know until you show them up. :D

OH, and you will need an ECU for the first example.

I suggest buying a tune-up, and getting the car running like a top...
Save SAVE SAVE!
Then swap it!

Learn and research in the meantime.
You will need to know everything about your own car that you can.

Go to Barnes and Noble. Buy some how to: Honda Secrets type books... READ UP!!! TUNE YOUR OWN CAR. Don't use anyone else's recipe. Your might be faster.

Dude.

Don't offer a NOS system for a DPFI car... That is like handing a gun to a suicide maniac.

(Rolling eyes) Where does this come from?

My car was fairly fast and fairly cheap. I paid ~3k for my crx with tokicos and a b16 which is the "usual" rate for these cars. Handled like a dream because the car was emtpy on the inside. Had me running faster than itrs and rsx-s (in stock trim of course )
