I am in the market for gauges right now. I plan on putting around 450whp out of my built b18c1.

I need to figure out exactly which gauges i need. I am thinking a simple setup of Autometer gauges will work fine for me. I know i want Boost, Oil Press, and Fuel press. I am also getting a wideband with display. The main question i have is this:

For my oil press gauge what does it need to go up to? like what psi? same question for the fuel press gauge as well? I appreciate your help.

If you have a suggestion on other gauges that i should get i am open to your thoughts. need to get my car running ASAP

 

so both the fuel and oil pressure gauges up to 100psi. and an EGT gauge, is an autometer EGt gauge gonna work alright?

Autometer is fine...
0-100 psi oil (mechanical)
0-100 psi fuel (electric) &lt;= unless you are using an rising rate FPR! most use 12:1 diaphragms, so 15psi*12+50= 230 psi!
EGT (Electric) mount at #4 or #3 cyl outlet (before turbo)
30 hg vac to 20 psi

Good to go.

well i know the boost gauge's p/n is 4301...

 

Now, do i need a fuel pressure gauge in cockpit. or just one under the hood?

 

if you're using FMU, i think its more important to have one inside the cabin. if you're not going to have high pressure due to some standalone, then mechanical inside engine bay will do. again, if you have more money to spend, just have electronic sit inside the cabin. Also, once your car is tuned, its a waiste of wideband to run it all the time.. my car was tuned via wideband and i just run narroband all the time and it tells me relative readings.

just make sure they're all electronic and not mechanical if to go inside the cabin.
i run boost, oil pressure and a/f + peaknhold via boost controller. i plan to get oil temp soon.
