I am using a greddy manifold that is equal length mani. looking to get a t25 turbo and get an external WG

how bad is it to mount the WG on the DP? everyone i have seen has the gate mounted on the manifold, but inorder to do that i would have to drill into my mani and take the chance of cracking it--

the safer way for me would be to customize a new DP and have it mounted there once i get the t25 turbo and external gate-- then just weld teh internal gate shut

any suggestions.
