Default Newbie has knock in 91

Hi guys.Im Dan a import newbie...I just recieved a very clean 91 Accord Lx 4 door, manual tranny.I got it from my cousin for $100..It ran when i got it but would knock at anything above idle.. Well i pulled valve cover off the stock f22a1 because it was leaking pretty bad. I looked at the timing belt an low and behold it was in bad shape..well i went out got new timing and balancer belt and installed per manual..Buttoned it all back up started it back up...knock is still there..Timing belt was shot so it needed replaced anyway.. I used a long screwdriver to try to pinpoint knock dosent seem to be coming from pan.. can't really tell though seems to be high up..can a bent valve hit the pistons in these cars? Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated..
The car has 200,000 miles on it.. Im willing to put a engine in it but dont really want to spend a mint..If you know what I mean! Thanks Guys...
P.S. I know you guys can be tough on people so cut me some slack!!!!

you can prolly find f22a1'a for pretty cheap at any junkyard or even on ebay (i would go for a junkyard over ebay tho). or you can try and find out if there is a bent valve or if maybe you just need a major valve adjustment. more than likely its a bent valve tho. if you are not too mechanically inclined and dont feel like buying a new engine and having it installed then your best bet is taking it to a dealer and have them pull the head for you and inspect it. good luck

Thanks for the quick respose Joe!
Yeah I can handle the wrench part..Im a school Bus mechanic, but its all nuts and bolts to me..Just a little smaller...So the valves can hit the pistons on these engines when timing belt jump? Whats a decent price to pay for a junkyard engine?

Thanks

i wouldnt offer anymore than lets say... 200 bucks for a good clean f22a1 without anything else (considering everything else works fine for you. heck you should even try just buying a f22a1 head for around 50 bucks but if you would prefer a whole engine then i would try and get one for 150

It is an interference engine, if the timing belt snap or broke some teeth, most likely the valve are bent or broken, alot more could happen.
like fatjoe said, not even worth to try to fix it, F series is pretty cheap engine. You shouldnt have problem finding one too, they are what? best selling car or something?

OT

a tires/wheel shop i went used 2 perfectly fine f23a1 for weight
