Anyone change their accord from obd2-obd1?
hey all just wondering if anyone has gone from obd 2 to 1.
im curious what all needs to be changed over except the obvious.. which is the ecu and jumper harness. anything on the motor needing changes?
thanks

Well, everyone has their own opinion on this topic. You're right in that you need an OBD-1 ecu and to save you from having to hone your wiring skills, buy the plug and play harness.
However, the truth is.. OBD-2 distributors are not adjustable, meaning you can't adjust the timing as the OBD-2 ecu controls it all. So when you swap the computer for an OBD-1 model, you will want to install an OBD-1 distributor. This will also allow you the convenience of adjusting your base timing.
Any reason why you want to do this swap ? It's pretty insignificant.

I have done the conversion on my 96 due to the fact that I am running a Hondata for my boost application.
Parts used: Skunk2 conversion harness + 5 speed P28 OBD1 ECU

i plan to do the conversion since im going to build a n/a f23. and i have a 97accord.
cheaper that doing a h22 build. my motor has 160,xxx on it so my goal was just lower miles. i can get a longblock f23 for $500 that has 33k on the motor. so goal one is accomplished. but before i drop the motor in my car i was going to p&p as well as put high comp pistons in.
being that im obd2 i would need to go to obd1 to tune it in correctly. i was orig thinking a vafc, but for the price i can just go with hondata. so i may have that done. and to go with hondata i would need obd1 anyhow

I'm in a similar boat. I got an 01 accord. F23a1 automatic. 82k miles. I want to do a manual swap and obd1 would make that easier. Plus I would like to turbo in the future so tunings gonna be a whole other deal. I'd love to hear any updates on your build.
