A little help for me
Well here is the deal. I have a 1990 honda accord lx 4dr. In the summer months or when it gets hotter than 70-80 degrees and I have my AC on sometimes the brake pedal will go all the way to the floor and my stopping power is obviously next to gone. But at night or at cooler temps no problems. Even when its hot out and I don't have my AC on it will do it but not as soon. I am STUMPED. I asked my brake guys and they have no clue (go figure) but the only thing I could come up with was my master cylinder is going out and the heat from the engine is heating up the brake fluid or I have water in my brake lines (even more wonderful). A little help would be much appreciated.
ive got the same problem...its the master cylinder... i remember SEARCHING one time and finding a thread on this last summer when i starting noticing this problem...yup, SEARCHING solved the problem as to what it was...
there you go
there you go
Well I SEARCHED for pedal and what not, but all those problems were only the pedal, I thought my problem was unique because it only happens when the ac is on.
well you see what happens is that its so hot out that the ac (cold air creator) will swirl in with the hot air creating a tornado sort of effect and therefore pulls your pedal away from you as you try to brake... its quite scary to know that there is a tornado inside your engine bay. and you should have searched for "tornado effect in my engine bay when i put the brake pedal on because i am a lead foot and i ride my brakes all the time" good luck next time you try to search
