scared to redline a 99 si
my buddy has a 99 si with all the bolt ons. in the 2 and a half years hes had the car its never been past 6500 rpm because he scared to go past that point. i tried to tell him that hondas and especially b series love high rpm's but hes scared. so will some of you guys post telling him its okay to go there. i did it the other night while he was drinking and he let me drive it to arby's and he damn near **** himself inside out. so please back me up on this, and help him get over his fear of high rpms.
ha..
engines are made to rev, sure by taking it up there, it'll potentially put more wear on the engine but thats what it was designed to do. so tell him to quit driving like a granny.

I think your friend is right
You cant be driving like that all the time, but its fine if he does go over 6.5K rpm ..just dont redline it!!

**** I had a girl in my English class this semester write a process analysis paper (one that tells you how to do something) on driving a manual and said to NEVER rev it over 3k. We pretty much laghed her out of class.
now im not saying the guy has to live in vtec, but hes scared to at anytime thats all im saying. once in a while is good, but to him, never.

Man, the first 2 weeks I had mine it was hard to stay under 5k cause I was breaking in a new motor. Since them it sees 8200 daily. Not all the time but probably at least once a day or so. And just did a compression test last week and everything is still perfect.
Totally agree...drive it like you own it, but not like a rental
. Thats the reason you have that car...to enjoy the car.
Its like having a girl and only ******* her once a week because you don't wanna wear out the *****!!!

Same here... First day I took my Si out I stopped on it and took it to 7500.... I only redlined it twice at the track (past 8K). it see's 8K a couple times a week still... and its still a strong as it's always been
