restrictor plate??
i opened up my dp-fi top cover just to look inside and i found an L-shaped peice of metal where the intake connects to the air chamber. if i take it out will it hurt my engine, do nothing, or make it run better (fuel economy is key).
i did it to mine when i had DPFI and it seemed to open up a little more air and make a little bit more noise. hardly noticeable though. try it out i guess. its only 2 screws.
i've heard this is what makes the biggest difference between the d15b1 and the d15b2 cause they're rated like 20hp apart or something? i forget the exact specs..
i'm sure if you remove it, you'll get a little better response from your engine, and I doubt that it'll hurt your fuel economy much. my d15b2 that burned like a quart of oil every week and a half still got 30mpg.
