Best car alarm?
Correct me if im wrong... but i always thought alarms are all basicly the same dilly.. its just the install that makes one "better" or "worse"... making sure your alarm has a hood switch and the shock sensor is placed in a good spot. maybe extra battery, sirens etc wouldnt hurt also. but of course thats just what i think.

Well to an extent yes, Ultimately the installation will determine how well the car is protected, but the install is only as good as the capabilites of the alarm. If I do a really good install on a really unreliable alarm, he alarm is still unreliable, but then again, if an installer does a grip, rip and go install job and doesn't hide the brain well, makes bad connections....things like that, even with a really good alarm, The car won't be protected.
Viper Alarms are (in my opinion) the best alarms out on the market today. And I highly reccomend the Viper 791xv, Check it out, Especially with all the protection areas and the two-way paging, it really does a great job of protecting the vehicle!

Very wrong. When I was an installer I had more than one Black Widow brain just fall apart in my hand. That is not an exaggeration, they literally just came apart in my hands for no apparent reason!!! DEI is the industry standard and they have a gazillion different brand names with awesome features.

Yes, I agree, I really wouldn't trust anything but a DEI alarm, I just stated Viper because it is their flagship model and it comes with a lifetime warrenty on the Brain. The 791x is thier flagship Viper piece.

Im currently in love with the Clifford RS 3.5 Matrix ( DEI product..makers of Viper, Sidwinder etc)with proxy, glass break sensors, and a long sharp samurai sword( gift from grandpa ). The matrix comes with remote start, and a two way paging system good for 7blocks ( line of sight) or about 3.5 blocks with buildings in the way.. im also a very light sleeper..
I personally sell and install all DEI products and my personal fav. so far is the Python 3000. As long as the install is done corectly it's a damn good alarm. Got a ton of features also
I found VIPER to be the best all around froduct. I have installed a ton of different kinds of alarms at my shop and VIPER is the clear winner!! Not only is it as reliable as mud, it has features that other alarms dont have. For instance, with a bitwriter (available at you local stereo shop for a programing fee) you can program things like a remote learn lockout, so that the theif working at jiffy lube does not just quickly program a remote while doing your oil change(believe me its tht easy). Just things to think about! Any DEI product you really cant go wrong with though. Plus the '"add ons" are cheap through DEI, things like radar or digital tilt or whatever you wat to through in the car!!! Hope this helps
DEI , or Directed Electronics Incorporated make the BEST alarms... some DEI alarms are Viper, Clifford, Avital, Sidewinder.. theres more out there, but they deffinatly make the best car alarm... ive worked in 2 different shops and thats all both of them sold. Dont get cheap when it comes to buying an alarm...
