Doesn't matter, its a flow-thru passage, so the direction doesn't matter.

Was it an air-injection manifold? 99-00 Y8's have air-injection to the fuel injectors that must be plugged on manifold swaps.

Not sure if this helps but:

I had the same problem with my swap. Turns out that it was the Idle Control valve. Took it off and noticed there was ALOT of gunk there..cleaned it all out with brake cleaner (Let it dry nice) and it worked fine from there on.

it is a 2000 ex civic so I needed to run that air injection
can anyone verify that there are 6 ports of vacuum on the manifold?
2 in back
3 near the top of it (PCV, one under it, and tiny line near the TB)
1 near the head (air injection and

did you check any sensors to see if they are disconnected. And civics do have bleeders in the front left of the header. thats what it sounds like to me man. Check and see if you have air in your coolant system.

where is the bleeder then exactly?

i was always under the impression there was no bleeder

also wouldn't disconnected sensors trigger a CEL?
which i don't have

As long as they've seated it shouldn't be a big deal. I hope I've been at least a little helpful on AIM. Hope you get it fixed for tonight!

hehe.. nothing ever goes smooth bro. my first guess was the ivac, had that problem once myself.. if it was a air leak i think it would just idle high, but this sounds like a bubbles.. i dunno man. No rush at all for the old manifold, so take your time. I'll talk to my buddy tonight about it. good luck

this may be a no brainer, but did you reset the ecu and let it run for 15min without pressing the throttle in order to let the computer register your new modifications

i think i may have thought of something!!
when i drained the radiator... i just drained it out from the IACV Hose...
maybe it introduced air into the system since i didn't drain it from the actual drain bolt!!
i'll keep u posted

BUMP
no luck with the radiator...
i'm gonna flush it out tommorrow and refill and try again...
anyone know what this means...
if i run the car without the IACV running it bounces around 1500 rpm up and down a tiny bit...
does that mean anything?

turns out my auto throttle leaves an opening when the IACV is still connected.
I didn't realize that, but now I just JBwelded the hole up lol
