one of my friend has the following problems:
the car is a 92 civic cx
no power sterring..nada
when driving the car feels like its riding on waves. it feels like the rear end sways out a little bit even on straight roads.
only mods are: tokiko blues and neuspeed race springs
integra rear disc: replaced rack and pinion(sp) : and has alignment set to factory specs.
spring questions:
how do u know if the springs were installed on correctly. should the "neuspeed" logo read upside down? or should they read right side up?
and how do u know if the front are reversed vice vera?
if its not the springs, what else can it be? any help is appreciated!!!
btw: car has been inspected by honda and independent shops multiple times..none have found a solution or say there was a problem.
TIA

I've never installed the neuspeeds, but on eibachs, the logo should be upright. Are the shocks okay? Are the springs installed on the right corners of the car (switched front and back)?

not sure if the cx has a sway bar but when i took off my sway bar on my 99 civic it started doing that "wave" you are talking about. Even as simple as changing lanes. So the problem could be the sway bar

I had somewhat of the same problem when I did my Si/EX rear disc conversion on my CX. When I did the conversion I decided to replace the left rear wheel hub bearing unit but forgot to put the spindle washer back in when I reinstalled it.
So when I drove on the road I noticed that my rear would sway left and right even on straights and it was scary because I would have to correct it by countersteering just to keep the car straight.
When I went to inspect it, it turned out to be the "spindle washer" Check that because that little washer fills the gap between the spindle nut and the wheel hub bearing and without it there is some play which will make you sway left and right. Good luck!

i will double check the spindle. but this was happening way before the disc swap. how would i know if the springs are on wrong?
the car doesnt pull to one side..it more like goes left or right depending on the pavement...or when youre hitting a bump.
the shocks are new...how can i tell whats front or back or even upside down. the spring logos are upside down but that was how the shop put them in.
the cx doesnt have sways..should i get some?

It really shouldn't matter if the springs are on upside down or not.
I would recheck torque on all the suspension bolts, then inspect the bushings to see if one has gone bad, followed by inspection of the ball joints.
If all that is fine, then one or more of your shocks might be bad.
