Default Is there a good way to set the BOV correctly?

Is there a definite "right" setting for the BOV? I have it set somewhere in the middle and when I develop boost and let off the gas i hear it discharge. How do i know if its set too tight vs. too loose?

thanks

When I release my throttle I get a nice quick pshhttt. I have my adjustment screw somewhere in the middle. Is there a "best" position for it and how do you determine what that is?

Ok on the greddy Type S BOV I would go by this:

Start up your car loosen the top nut, turn the shaft clockvise for hard or counter clockvise for a soft setting now set the Bov so that there is no air leak from the out let at idle, and than I would give it another 1/4 turn clockvise and tighten the top nut back up. But keep this in mind you want to set your screw as tight as possible whithout getting compressor surge, so play around with it and see where its set at the best. The bov should have quick response when you let off the gas or if its set too soft you will loose boost. Have Fun!!!!

if it flutters, adjust it, if it doesn't, don't touch it

If its too tight, the pressurize air doesn't vent out and it goes back to the compressor. It will start to make a fluttering sound like a pressure release with a stuttering problem....
