Turboxs MBC isnt working...
Im having trouble w/ my mbc. I have the vacuum line on the side of the mbc connected to the side of the wastegate which is connected to the turbo and the bottom vacuum line connected to the top of the wastegate. I turned the mbc's allen screw all the way clockwise (the direction of negative boost on the mbc) and I'm still hitting 12psi. No detonation or pinging but still I dont want to boost this much.
I think you connect the side port of the MBC to the Turbo pressure hose and then connect the bottom of the MBC to the side port of the wastegate.
Ben says its 10psi but I've hit 12 and then i let off. It pulls like hell though. 1st gear is pretty useless I lose traction when i hit full boost and im running on some heavy katana c5's w/ nitto 555's
i have mine set up a bit differently.....i have the side of my Waste gate going to my MBC, then from the MBC it goes to my vac line on my intake manifold, the top port of my wastegate is left open, and mine controls boost. try it this way maybe?
You have it hooked up wrong.
Unless you have an EBC, NEVER HOOK ANYTHING UP TO THE TOP PORT ON THE WASTEGATE.
The bottom port on the TurboXS goes to the side port on the wastegate, and the side port on the TurboXS goes to a STRONG manifold source. On tony's car, we used the brake booster line.

Thats how I had it and it didnt work, then Ben told me to do it the other way. Hmm ill try it again. Does the mbc only work if the screw is kinda loose? Cuz I tightened that thing all the way and still seeing lots of boost.
I tried hooking it up to the manifold vacuum connected to the intake manifold and the valve cover and that didnt work. Where exactly is the brake booster? Its a b18b btw.

Why should you never hook anything up to the top port of the wastegate unless you're using an ebc?? Im using a turbonetics MBC and in the directions it shows to hook up the vacuum port to the top side of the wastegate, thats how I hooked it up.

Anyone? Dustin? Oh yeah, turboxs's website says to hook the vacuum on the side of the wastegate to teh site of the mbc and the top of the wastegate to the bottom of the mbc.

Ok i guess turboxs is wrong. Where was the brake booster line? I tried running t'ing it off to the vacuum line that connects from the manifold and the head but that didnt work either.
DUSTIN..... in that picture you posted. inline with the break vaccum line from the manifold it seems like there is another check valve in line with it ... i know the factory one is the grey one closest to the Master cylinder but whats the other one on the other end it seems like there is another check valve in the vaccum line.. is this true (look closely) if so whats the purpose of it..... the reason why i ask cause i want to know if its bad to have the master cylinder see "boost" ... thanks in advance.. -joe
The MC will not see boost, that is the point of the factory check valve...
