Default The Official I suck at wiring and giving all the info I can give thread

Well I tried again to find what the hell the problem was with my system.

First heres the specs on my headunit/subs/amps and a nice diagram of how I wired EVERYTHING!!

- Blaupunkt's Exclusive BP-4 CD Deck with 3-Beam Holographic Laser Pickup & 1-Bit/8X Oversampling Digital Filter.

Amplifier
Clarion DPX 1000.2

Continuous Average Power Output 500 W (250 W x 2 into 4 ohms 20Hz-20KHz @ 0.05% THD)
Typical 2-ohm Stereo 500 W x 2 @ 0.5% THD 1kHz
Typical Bridged Power 1kHz 1000 W @ 0.5% THD
Bass Extender Control 0~18dB @ 45Hz
Adjustable 55Hz-5.5kHz; 12dB/oct. High/Low Pass Crossover
Mixed-Mode Operation
Bridgeable 2/1 Channel Operation
MOSFET Power Supply

Subs
Audiobahn AW1206T
non-resonant cast aluminum basket with polished chrome plating
2" foam surround
dual 4-ohm voice coils
7-1/2 pound magnet
frequency response 20-500 Hz
power range 50-1,100 watts RMS (550 watts per coil)
peak power handling 2,200 watts
sensitivity 96.4 dB
top-mount depth 7"
sealed box volume: 0.5 to 1.25 cubic feet
ported box volume: 1.3 to 3.2 cubic feet

Well as you can see coming out of my deck are the rcas, I dont know how to hook them up to my amps. I have 2 12' Rcas and coming out of the headunit there are 2 black and 2 grey with like RF/LF/RR/LR on them. I think I have everything else done right judging by the info I gave right?

Car start fine and 2 grounds on the engine have been upgraded to 4gauge wire.
Amps dont have a fuse

HOPE YOU CAN HELP

For wiring the subs correctly, go here: http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html

For the RCA's, you'll just want to use the LR and RR ones (left and right rear channel), unless you want one sub on the front channel and one on the rear (and I don't think anyone would want that). These RCA's will then go from your deck to the first amp's inputs. I usually do red for right (R/R -- easy to remember), and black for left. Some companies use different colors, but as long as you're consistent, that's all that matters.

Does your amp have a set of RCA outputs ? I couldn't find specs for that amp from just a quick, cursory search. If it does, then you'll want to connect those outputs to the next amp's inputs. If your amp doesn't have pre-amp outputs, then you'll have to follow a different route.

If you get that done, along with wiring the sub, per the resource listed above, you should be in good shape.

Where are you from, by the way? Maybe a local H-T member would be able to give you a hand.

Good luck.

Ya my amps doesnt have preouts, only imputs.

I may not have got the colors of the ends of the rcas coming out of the deck right, but I know there were 2 grey and 2 black wires

Are these your amp?

I Think you can use a Equalizer/Crossover combo that takes in one pair of RCA's but gives you two to three pairs of outputs

Well on mine atleast the black are rear and the front are gray. If i were you I'd run the rr to a splitter into the amp if it has 2 channel inputs and same for the rl doesnt' really matter if you get the rr or rl mixed up bass is pretty much same for both sides.

That is my amp above

I just dont think I wired the subs right. Because the amps are getting power and the speakers work fine.

But on each sided of the sub, there are 4 inputs, so thats 8 inputs per sub, I just think I did something wrong

from your diagram..you have dual voice coil subwoofers. Each sub should have two sets of imputs. i see from your diagram that you are running them at 2ohm...assuming that each sub is running dual 4ohm voice coils. if your amp can handle it..kudo's..if not, its going to go into therma protection and the sound will cut in and out. you should connect them in series. As for the RCA's..find out which set are the REARS and which ones are the FRONTS. im guessing the gray wires are the fronts and the black the rear. regardless if you are only using the RCA's as subwoofer imputs..you can connect your rca's to either one of them and it will be fine.

(edit: i just read the specs on your equipment and you have the subs wired up correctly.)

BTW: i recommend you take your car to a shop to have it wired correctly. You dont want to blow anything with incorrect wiring. This is coming from someone who works at a stereo shop and has to fix janky, do-it-yourself, ghetto wiring many times.
