Default are all d series clutch(PP)/flywheel the samething???

i have a act clutch/flywheel off a 88-91 crx si... i was wondering if i could use the Pressure Plate and the flywheel on my d16y7 block??? and just buy a new clutch disc since the one with the PP doesnt fit... or do i have to get one for my year?

i'm pretty sure as long as you use the same flywheel/clutch disk/pressure plate, it will work (if its not a 21 spline disk).

http://www.gamesbbs.com/~dmoore/tranny.htm

88' has 190mm flywheel/disc, 21 spline
89' 200 mm, 20 spline
90-(00' ??) 212 mm, 20 spline.

so anyway, you can use any 89 and up set, unless you're running an 88, 21 spline tranny.

well the clutch and flywheel was from a cable tranny... im gonna be putting it in a z6 hydro tranny... the disc wont work cause i try to fit it in the tranny lastnight and wouldnt go in... but i wanted to know if i could still use the flywheel, Pressure plate and just buy a new clutch disc...

you might be able to. count the splines in the clutch disc, and measure the clutch disc diameter. if you count 21 splines, you can't get a replacement disk that would work, because the only 21 spline disk is 190 mm, which would also be the diameter of the mating surface of your flywheel and pp. if its 20 spline, you can use it, just get the correct size disk for your pp/flywheel.

ok, since the clutch disk doesn't go on the tranny splined shaft, that means its a 21 spline, meaning its for an '88 tranny, meaning that the disk is 190 mm diameter, and so are the flywheel/pressure plate contact surfaces.

you can't use any of it, unless you decided to use an '88 cable tranny, which would be more trouble than its worth.

if the set was from ANY other year, '89 and up, you would be able to use it.

the flywheel won't work because its 190 mm across, and only an '88 clutch disk has that diameter, but that disk won't go on your tranny.

hm, i guess its possible that the person who had the flywheel/clutch/pp combo was using an 88 tranny, and 190mm disk, but with a bigger flywheel.

did you ever measure ?
