I was wondering if any d-16 piston will fit into any d-16 motor? older pistons into newer motor but most concerning, newer pistons into older motor, for example 2000 pistons into z6 motor.

 

yes they will fit.

if im not mistake all D series motors from ike 88 up all have the same bore which means you could use the same piston.

 

what size is the piston? factory bore?

 

**** if you search under my user name there is some posts that give the factory bore, and im pretty sure that all 88 and up D series motor have the same bore and it says what that is. even the first gen integra motor DOHC has the same bore

most all d16 rods are the same, not all, but if you mess with the pistons you mess with comp. i would have a local machine shop just look at them for some insurance

 

you are still safe putting in any of the D series piston's into a d16 the highest compression you can get is 11.1 or 11.2 which is fine for stock componets

but what i want is lower compressions cause i have a turbo.. sup now biatch, one tyme, and i will be your biatch if you can catch me.. hehe..

 

um i don't know what will give you the lowest but i have ***HEARD*** that the d15b EVTEC's that came in the VX from 1992 to 1995 are super low compression and super dished

 

Yeah buddy you go right ahead and lower your stock compression of 9.2:1 to even lower so you have to run more boost and then lag even more...



If you're going through the trouble of building the motor, why cheap out and use cast pistons which are not ideal for boost?

I'd actually RAISE the CR to 9.5:1 or even 10:1 and run a forged piston and not boost as much.

But what do I know?
